 Marine Corps League Lake County Detachment 801 monthly meeting is at

In Laws Restaurant in Gurnee, IL East side of Milwaukee Ave (Rt. 21) 400' south of Rt. 132 (Grand Ave)

Time: 1800 to 1900 social hour Meeting from: 1900 to 2030

The Color Guard will be presenting colors at the following events

  • August 2, 2009 - Lake County Fair Demolition Derby
  • August 9, 2009 - McHenry County Fair Demolition Derby
  • August 23, 2009 - Kenosha County Fair Demolition Derby
  • September 7, 2009 - Zion Parade
  • September 12, 2009 - WeDoCare in Barrington

            

  • 8/15/2009         Change of Command  -  MACG-48 Commanding officer Colonel Aumuller will be retiring and Colonel Yeager will be replacing  him. The COC will start at 1300  ( 1 PM ) on this Saturday. The Marine Corps League has been invited to be part of this COC at        Great Lakes  Location:   South Side of Rt. 137 1 block East of Rt. 41.   Marine Air Control Group 48
  • 8/16/2009 1 PM Same location we have a Marine Corps Leaguer Lt Col Barry Federici being installed as the  Commanding Officer of MEPS at MACG-48. As a MCL member of Lake County 801 we incourage as many red Hats as possible to this COC at Great Lakes MACG-48 facility
  • 8/18/2009 - Chicago Marine For Life Networking Luncheon will be held at Gibson's Steakhouse, Rosemont.  The luncheon cost $30.00 per person (active duty transitioning Marines are free) and will be from 1130 to 1300.  Parking is available.  This is an opportunity for transitioning and discharged Marines to meet with employers and let them know why Marines are valued as an employee. The M4L luncheons are held every other month alternating between the Rosemont and Chicago Gibson's locations. The mission of the M4L program is twofold: (1) Provide transition assistance to Marines who honorably leave active service and return to civilian life and (2) Promote camaraderie and networking among Marine businessmen and leaders in the area.

  • 8/23/2009 - The Lake County Detachment Color Guard will be presenting Colors at the Kenosha County Fair Demolition Derby. 
  • Septermber 12, 2009  from 1200 (Noon) to 1:30 pm at 1200 McHenry Ave. Crystal lake, IL 60014 At Crystal Lake South High School they will be dedicating a Soccer field in the name of LCpl Jonathan Collins

 

  • 9/ 7/2009 - The Lake County Detachment Color Guard will be presenting Colors at the Zion Parade Jubilee Days. 
  • 9/12/2009 - The "WE DO CARE" 6th Annual Family Freedom Festival will be held in Downtown Barrington at the Metra Train Station from noon to 2200 rain or shine.

 

  • 10/17/2009  MCL Lake County 801 will have a Toys 4 Tot's kick off fund raiser at Gurnee, IL Jewel
  • 10/23/2009 MCL Lake County 801 will have a Toys 4 Tot's kick off fund raiser at Barrington, IL Jewel

 

  • 11/1/2009 - The Chicago Police Marines w ill hold its Annual Veteran's Fund-Raiser on Sunday, 1 November 2009 from Noon to 1700 hours.  It will be held at Chicago FOP Hall #7 located at 1412 W Washington Blvd Chicago IL .  Donation $15.00 ($20.00 at the door).  Your donation includes free S.O.S., chili, hot dogs, beer, soda and a chance to win one of the following: 1st prize: $500.00, 2nd prize: $300.00 cash, 3rd prize: $200.00 cash.  Winner need not be present.   In addition to our Veteran's Fund-Raiser, we produce an Ad Book that is distributed at the event.  We have full page ads available for $100.00 (Color $200.00), half page ads for $60.00 (Color $120.00) and Semper Fi ads for $20.00.  Please include an additional $25.00 to add a photo.  Please make checks payable to Chicago Police Marines MCL.
